Network Browsing
Here is a simple usability issue I do not understand. Many Linux file managers have built-in support to browse and find for existing Common Internet File System (CIFS) networks. This includes Samba networks.
Why is there is no support to browse and connect to NFS networks? The showmounts --exports $SERVER
command reveals exports for a known NFS server. The rpcinfo -b mountd 1
command reveals NFS servers.
Is there a technical reason for this lack of support?
