Recovering Deleted Files
A common question asked in Linux forums and covered in online tutorials is recovering deleted files.
Most non technical users seldom, if rarely, venture into using the terminal. As such they should be able to recover most deleted files through the desktop trash feature. Yet there are times when files are deleted outside that environment and recovery then becomes a challenge.
While most tutorials and discussions cover popular tools for recovery, usually testdisk and photorec, all of these writers miss an important point. There are no GUI wrappers to any of these tools. All require using the terminal, something non technical users resist.
Point-clicky. The Year of the Linux Desktop awaits.
