Password Strength Meters
I do not mind when developers include a password strength meter. I wonder about the reliability of these tools, but I agree the tools likely get non technical users thinking about security at some nominal level.
I do mind when developers become self-appointed nannies to enforce their vision of what constitutes a strong password and refuse to let users proceed further until satisfying their whims.
For my own good, of course.
That is not good security. That is bullying. Not your job folks. Recommend what I should do but do not force me.
I own the computer, not you.
